【Properties】This product is a white or almost white powder. 

【Pharmacological Action】Pharmacodynamics Colistin is a polypeptide antibacterial drug and a basic cationic surfactant. It exerts  a bactericidal effect by interacting with phospholipids in the bacterial cell membrane, penetrating into the bacterial cell membrane,  destroying its structure, and then causing changes in membrane permeability, leading to bacterial death. This product has strong  antibacterial effects on aerobic bacteria, Escherichia coli, Haemophilus spp., Klebsiella spp., Pasteurella spp., Pseudomonas  aeruginosa, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp. and other Gram - negative bacteria. Gram - positive bacteria are usually not sensitive. It  has complete cross - resistance with polymyxin B, but no cross - resistance with other antibacterial drugs. Pharmacokinetics Little absorption occurs after oral administration, but rapid absorption occurs after parenteral administration. The  drug entering the body can be quickly distributed into the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, and skeletal muscles, but it is not easy to enter  the cerebrospinal cord, thoracic cavity, joint cavity, and infected foci. It is mainly excreted through the kidneys. 

【Drug Interactions】(1) Combined use with muscle relaxants and aminoglycoside neuromuscular blockers may cause muscle  weakness and respiratory arrest. (2) It has a synergistic effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa with chelating agents (EDTA) and cationic cleansers, and is often used in  combination for the treatment of local infections. 

【Indications and Uses】It is a polypeptide antibiotic. Mainly used for the treatment of intestinal infections caused by Gram -  negative bacteria. 

【Dosage and Administration】Calculated based on this product. For drinking water mixing: For pigs, 0.4 - 2g per 1L of water; For  chickens, 0.2 - 0.6g per 1L of water. For feed mixing: For pigs, 0.4 - 0.8g per 1kg of feed. 

【Adverse Reactions】No adverse reactions have been seen when used in accordance with the specified dosage and administration. 

【Precautions】(1) Chickens that lay eggs for human consumption must not be used during the egg - laying period. (2) Continuous  use should not exceed one week. 

【Withdrawal Period】7 days for pigs and chickens.
