【Properties】This product is a pale - yellow powder.
【Pharmacological Action】It is a tetracycline antibiotic. Oxytetracycline can reversibly bind to the receptor on the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, interfering with the formation of a ribosome complex between tRNA and mRNA, and inhibiting protein synthesis by preventing the elongation of the peptide chain, thus rapidly inhibiting the growth and reproduction of bacteria. Oxytetracycline has an inhibitory effect on both Gram - positive and Gram - negative bacteria. Bacteria have cross - resistance to oxytetracycline and doxycycline.
【Indications and Uses】It is a tetracycline antibiotic. Used for the treatment of infectious diseases caused by Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Pasteurella, and mycoplasma sensitive to oxytetracycline in pigs and chickens.
【Dosage and Administration】Calculated based on this product. For drinking water mixing: 200 - 400mg per 1L of water for pigs; 300 - 500mg per 1L of water for chickens. Continuous use for 3 - 5 days.
【Adverse Reactions】Long - term use can cause superinfection and liver damage.
【Precautions】(1) This product is not suitable for combined use with penicillins and feeds or drugs containing calcium salts, iron salts, and polyvalent metal ions. (2) Combined use with potent diuretics can aggravate kidney function damage. (3) Not suitable for mixing with tap water with high chlorine content and alkaline solutions.
