【Properties】This product is an almost white to pale - yellow powder. 

【Pharmacological Action】Pharmacodynamics Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibacterial drug, and its antibacterial spectrum is  similar to that of kanamycin. It has a strong antibacterial effect on most Gram - negative bacilli such as Escherichia coli, Proteus,  Salmonella and Pasteurella multocida, and is also relatively sensitive to Staphylococcus aureus. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Gram - positive  bacteria (except Staphylococcus aureus), rickettsiae, anaerobic bacteria and fungi are resistant to this product. Pharmacokinetics Little neomycin is absorbed after oral and local administration. Only 3% of the total amount is excreted in the urine  after oral administration, and most of it is excreted in the feces without change. Absorption can increase when the intestinal mucosa is  inflamed or ulcerated. The absorption after injection is very fast, and its in - vivo process is similar to that of kanamycin.

【Drug  Interactions】(1) Combined use with macrolide antibiotics can treat mastitis caused by Gram - positive bacteria. (2) Oral administration  can affect the absorption of digitalis drugs, vitamin A, or vitamin B12. (3) Combined use with penicillins or cephalosporins has a  synergistic effect. (4) The antibacterial effect of this product is enhanced in an alkaline environment. Combined use with alkaline drugs  (such as sodium bicarbonate, aminophylline, etc.) can enhance the antibacterial effect, but the toxicity is also increased accordingly. When  the pH exceeds 8.4, the antibacterial effect is reduced. (5) Cations such as Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+ , NH4+ , and K+  can inhibit the antibacterial  activity of this product.(6) When used in combination with cephalosporins, dextran, potent diuretics (such as furosemide, etc.), and  erythromycin, it can increase the ototoxicity of this product.(7) Skeletal muscle relaxants (such as succinylcholine chloride, etc.) or drugs  with such effects can enhance the neuromuscular blocking effect of this product. 

【Indications and Uses】It is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. Mainly used for the treatment of gastrointestinal infections caused by  sensitiveGram - negative bacteria. 

【Dosage and Administration】Calculated based on this product. For drinking water mixing: 0.15 - 0.23g per 1L of water for poultry.  Continuous use for 3 - 5 days. 

【Adverse Reactions】Neomycin has the greatest toxicity among aminoglycosides, but toxic reactions rarely occur after oral or local  administration. 

【Precautions】Chickens that lay eggs for human consumption must not be used during the egg - laying period.
